About

Introduction

I graduated with honours from İstinye University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 2021. Since graduation, while working in private practice settings, I have continued my professional development through a range of postgraduate training programmes.

Education and Professional Journey

During my undergraduate years, my interest and aptitude for subjects relating to the musculoskeletal system and the spine were stronger than for other areas of study. Manual therapy stood out to me as a field where knowledge translates directly into application, and where change in the patient can be observed within a single session; this experience shaped my professional direction.

I completed my clinical placements at İstinye University Hospital and Medical Park, working primarily with musculoskeletal cases and rehabilitation of lumbar and cervical disc problems. After graduation, I gained experience across a range of private practices in İstanbul. In 2023, I opened my own practice in Beşiktaş, where I continue to see my patients today.

Postgraduate Training

Since graduation, I have completed three main training programmes relevant to my areas of practice. In total, I have undertaken 235 hours of certified postgraduate training; the certificates can be viewed in the credentials section at the bottom of the page.

MANEX Concept (168 hours, 14 modules). A neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation programme that integrates manual therapy, neuroscience and exercise. This training taught me to assess each patient holistically — not only from an anatomical perspective, but also in terms of pain perception, lifestyle and the broader psychosocial context.

OMT Training (37 CPD hours). A series of courses covering spinal manipulation, osteopathic articulation and kinesiology taping techniques. Much of the manual therapy I draw on in my current practice, along with my approach to clinical safety (red flag) screening, comes from this training.

Integrated Kinetic Neurology — Level 1 and 2 (30 CEU). An approach centred on the role of the nervous system in movement and pain. It provides practical methods that I use when assessing patients and selecting appropriate exercises.

My Approach

For me, assessment is the most important part of the first session. When the pain began, which movements aggravate it and how it affects daily life are the core factors that determine where treatment should start. To gather this information, I listen carefully to my patients and use a small number of key questions to clarify the picture. The small details in a patient's own account often open the way to the right clinical decision.

"Assessment is the compass of treatment. Every body tells its own unique story."

When the patient's history, clinical findings, age, occupation and daily routine are considered as a whole, it becomes possible to map out an appropriate course of treatment.

Following this assessment, a treatment plan suited to the individual patient takes shape. The plan includes manual therapy techniques, a tailored exercise programme and, where relevant, guidance about pain or movement patterns. Lasting results depend on the patient's active participation in the process; the home exercises and daily movement recommendations I provide form an important part of this.
